I think that Krakauer risked it all because he just wanted to climb Mt. Everest. Some people do it for sport, or just for the thrill. It could be possible that he was trying to find something.
Isabel basically risked her life when she went to go tell Col. Regan about Lockton. First of all, she's a slave, there always risks whaen you're a slave. Also, she's LEAVING her master's home and actually GOING somewhere to tell him.
