Benedict Arnold : Why Did He do It?

Benedict Arnold was a member of our own Militia. He lead the fight of Ft. Ticonderoga, which the Patriots had won. It was an historic win for our country, but not as much for him. For you see, nobody on his own side treated him with the respect he deserved. Although his temper often made things awkward between him and his fellow army men , he mad the best of things. Most of the time, he would just ignore them, and hang out with some captured red coats in there jail cells. But he stayed loyal to his country. He then became appointed commander. But tragically, this day, last year, after all of his tolerance of foolish happenings, that came to him, he resigned his commander post, last year, July, 1777.
This was a great loss for the continental army. We will long suffer from this extreme loss. One of our greatest commanders is gone, and the effect of this event could be, but is not limited to, the loss of the war, and many other consequences to follow. I dare say, that it is our own countries fault, that we are so insubordinate, that we can't even give a fellow countrymen the respect and honor that he deserves. If our country that is fighting so hard to be independant, can't even perform a simple task as that one, we are not ready to form our own country, by far.
These words, are my own words that I have said, and I live up to them. But yesterday, this country has learned of the news, that Benedict Arnold has committed treason against his own country. Although I am not at all bewildered by this, I will never get over the fact, that we-as Americans, had to push him so hard, that he would have to oppose sides, and be with the enemy. Many citizens are asking why this stunning event has happened, but I believe that if you search deep enough, you will find the answer.

With all due respect,
