Dear Madam Lockton

July 10th 1776.
I have just recieved word, from the angels of God lurking down in New York, that you have wrongfully so, without any legitimate reason what so ever, sold my baby girl Ruth, without my older daughter having any knowledge of that event.
I am completly dumbfounded by this, and in complete shock. I have announced this to all of the heavens. They agree with my thinking. You must do everything in your power to fix this so that almighty God may forgive you. But the most horrible thing about this, is that she was so young. Just because of her illness, you sold her. Only one of the Devils own would do something like this.

I have just heard about my baby girl Isabel telling you off, and running away. I say good for her. Your actions were unproper and imature. She is in the right here. Blacks are not animals, as you may think. They are people like you, and like I was. You must see the light, and let her go. Realize that the way you are going, is not the way to go.

There are several things that I would love to say to you in this letter, but i have the restraint not to. Sadly for you, I am watching over both of my babies, and they shall remain safe, so any pointless attempt you have of harming them, will only become a chore for you.

letter

Dear Becky,
You will not belive what has happened since you left! I tried to escape to the rebels base but i got caught after they betrayed me. You would remember that. The brand is still there.
But another thing, Lady Seymore fell gravely ill and asked my assistance. While at her place a great fire sprang up and I had to rescue the Lady. In my return I got a cloak and a few other things.
Meanwhile Cuzon lost a battleand was thrown into prizon. i visit him almost every day.
No news of my sister and the Lady is still abed. I wish you werew here.
Isabel

Chains Letter

Dear Ruth,

Why did you get sold? Where did you go? I have so many questions. The British have invaded New York, and they took some rebels prisoner. Curzon was one of those. Some of the British are here at this house, and some hessians too. Becky left, and we have more slaves in the house. There was a huge fire that destroyed a lot of the city, Lady Seymour's hose was set a flame. We only have a few things from her house. I was there, sleeping, when it started. I hope everything is going well for you.

Love,
Isabel

Isabel's letter to Ruth

I have worried and missed you so much you can't even imagine. How has work been with your new masters? I was wondering if you have had any seizers since you have left? Just to let you know Madam took your doll but I promise to make you a new one.
Now I will tell you all about life back here. First of all Lockton is in the army and there is a plot to kill George Washington. Curzon is also in the army and he got shot, I have been talking to him. There was a fire at Lady Seymour's house but everyone is ok, and Lady Seymour is very ill. I hope to see you soon!

Love Isabel

isabels letter to RUTH

I have missed you so dearly! I have been worrying if you're even alive? Have you been feeling ok, any more seizers? Just to let you know I had your doll. I kept it hidden until madam found it and took your doll. She took what was left of you away from me. But I for sure will make you another doll.
For me I have made a new friend, his name is Curzon. He was helping in the army, but he got shot in the leg. Hes OK though. I go visit him daily though. For the house, there might have been a little accident. It kinda started on fire. After it calmed down, everyone was OK! :) As of Lockton, I guess hes in the army too. If you're still alive and well, write back, and remember, IM HERE!!

love
ISABEL <33
